    3. Hi All, just a quick question, although I can find the place names on the Mull Genealogy web pages can any tell me the comparative distances and where abouts the places named Kilpatrick, Assapol, Ardtun and Torrans where or are from each other. Thanks to Christine Leach I have some information on the Torrans area, does anything remain of the other area's or are they in the same condition as Torrans, looking to find this out as to be able to place the family over a couple of generations, where they came from and were they moved to. Thanks and by the way a Very Happy New Year to all. Donald.

    3. Hi Ida and all, Because of the McQuarrie connection I've had a trawl around the various Census Indices for Ann McDonald and found her first at Bunessan in 1851 interestingly born Bury which I assume to be Ancestryspeak for Burgh just across Loch Scridain from Bunessan. You have 1861 at Bunessan and by 1871 she is at Appin with Maryann 12 & Angus 15. her husband Angus has presumably died and she is listed as Ann McQuarrie. 1881 she is at East Laroch by Glencoe and in 1891 with daughter in Oban. Not on 1901 so presumably died Kilmore & Kilbride 1891-01. Looks likea scotlandspeople job to sort out her parents!! I've been working with Frank and others about setting up an official web site for the budding clan society. I will leave the former site up and active until the new site is complete. It's a collateral line to mine; I descend through one of his brothers. If I can shed any light once I look more closely at your information, I'll post. 3. Hi List - I think I sent this incorrectly the first time; please excuse duplication. Listers - Can you recommend to me any available literature on the history of the Ross of Mull? (I do have Carol Riddell's "History of Tireragan Township, Ross of Mull," Jo Currie's "Mull, the Island and its People," and the book "Tea with Chrissie" by Rosalind Jones, all of which I recommend.) Thanks, Karen

    3. Hi Listers - Can you recommend literature available on the history of the Ross of Mull? I do have Carol Riddell's "History of Tireragan Township, ROM," Jo Currie's "Mull, the Island and its People," and the book "Tea with Chrissie" by Rosalind Jones, all of which I recommend. Thanks, Karen

    3. Hi Ida and Edwin, THE Allendean could possibly be Allendale which is just over on the South Australian side of the SA Vic border. Will have a look for any corresponding births in South Aust. Allendale is on the outskirts of Mt Gambier which should show on your maps.
