    3. Strange (or not so strange)that the Brown family that I'm researching on Islay has similar first names. I have:- Donald Brown bpt.1799 Islay Hugh Brown bpt. 1807 Islay. These boys had sisters Catherine and Marion. Both the sisters married on Islay. What happened to Hugh and Donald I haven't discovered. Whether there were other children in the family is uncertain as it was very difficult to find these ones. Their parents were Finlay Brown and Florence McCormack(various spellings). Is this the Hugh who remained on Islay belonging to your family? Did my Donald emigrate to Canada? Celia.
