Hi all, Lorne Campbell kindly sent these registrations several days ago. The McCORQUODALE/McARTHUR one has been nagging at my mind ever since. According to information I received years ago from Mary Trace of Calgary, John McCorkindale (note spelling) was born at Nosbridge, Islay 4 Dec. 1829 and christened at Bowmore 9 Jan. 1832. This makes him considerably older than the marriage record. He was a Presbyterian minister in later years and died at Fort William, Ont. 9 Jan. 1932 and is buried there in Mountain View cemetery. Sarah Cameron McArthur was born 28 July 1846 and died 29 June 1937 and is buried with her husband. Her father Peter McArthur was born in Islay about 18 March 1810 to James McArthur and Margaret McArthur and died Apr. 4, 1896 and is buried in Everton, Ont. cemetery. His wife Catherine McLEAN was born May 1814 in Islay to Neil McLean and Sarah CAMERON and died 11 Nov. 1896 and is buried in Everton also. I have much more on this family if anyone is interested.
