Hi All, Looking for information on my 4x great grandparents Duncan Sinclair and Isobel Currie. They married January 1793 at Bowmore or Killarrow. I am a descendant of their daughter Flora Sinclair. Hello, Ina, Do you mean "Donald" Sinclair (not Duncan)? There was a marriage between Donald Sinclair of Gortanilvory to Isabel (Bell) Currie of Barr on the 24 January, 1793. They did have a daughter, Flory born in 1804, who later married Alex Douglas in Greenock. Same family? Donald was a grocer. Most of their children were born at Balitarsin. Their son Donald, mason, married Elizabeth Ferguson in 1838. Unfortunately, the 1799 tenant lists don't shed any light on the parents of either, so at this point, the brick wall starts here. Sorry.
