What other information is on the film? I see only one Spence and no Storries. It was recently confirmed here that Donald Spence and Ann Hay Storrie lived on Lossit Farm. A letter from Canada to Scotland shows that Donald b 1805 in Islay was a distiller at Lossit and his wife Anne Hay Storrie was the daughter of the Excise Man. The show up in the 1851 Census of Victoria County Ontario where Donald donated the land for the Glenarm Cemetary. It would be interesting if the film in question here listed other members of the household or is it that the John Spence married between the date of the census and the birth of Donald in 1805. Perhaps if this film does not contain too much information It could be transcribed and posted? Hi John: The book "Hardscrabble" says, on page 37, that Ronald Gilchrist donated one acre of land for the church and cemetery.
