Dear List: I have a request to make for some help with my brick wall. I have traced a John Mitchell married to Flora Campbell to Greenock where Flora died in 1878 at 51 Crawford St. According to the 1881 Census her husband, John Mitchell born Islay age 77 was living with his son, Alexander, born Islay, and daughter-in-law Janet (Allan) born Greenock, at 47 Crawford St. West, Greenock. I have been unable to find this family on the 1891 Census and so far have not found a death for John. Does anyone on the list have access to street directories for the area, and if so, could you possible do a lookup for me so that I at least know when they left Greenock. I have not found John's death in Greenock on Scotlandspeople and it is gettng a little expensive chasing every John Mitchell!.
