what's the best way to find more info? It looks like some of my family emigrated to New York about the turn of last century. The Ellis island records have Scotch US citizens Anne Head, Neil, Mary and ?Nin arriving in October 1904 on return tickets. They're going to husband D Head's home at 520 West 51st in New York. My problem is that I don't believe it shound be D Head - how do I check US records (without having to pay massively to ancestry.com?) Y'see I think they could be family of Neil (misspelt as Niel) Head that Ellis Island lists as arriving in 1896 on the Campania aged 30. Sadly Ellis Isle's link to the original manifest is'nt right.
