Dear Mr Pinder, There is an English family called Dawson living in Islay at the present. Mrs Jane Dawson lives at Lagmore House in Portnahaven and there are others of the same family living at Easter Ellister. They have got horses and llamas and a wee bird colony and all sorts. Mrs Dawson wrote a very interesting book about her life and how she came to live in Islay with her late husband. Can't remember the name of it, but it would maybe come up in Google. Thanks very much for the info on present day Dawsons.Do you have any idea as to how I might get contact details of any of them? An Email address would be fantastic or even if I could get them my email address so that they could contact me if they are willing? I will have a look for the book and see what I can find.
