Hi List: In 1840 John Campbell married Margaret Gilchrist at Kildalton. John was born in about 1802 and died in 1872. Margaret was born in 1812 and died in about 1896. Census and birth records indicate that they had children Ronald in 1841, John in about 1842 Betsy in about 1843, Alexander in about 1846, Lilly in about 1848 and Mary after 1851. I can find only one marriage of the children. Lilly married Donald Leitch in Glasgow in 1872. They had a son Neil born in 1872 and Lilly died in 1873. I can find no record of any member of this family leaving Islay. Does anyone know of descendants of this family now living on Islay or anywhere else. Ted Larson
