Hello, My husband, Chris and I have been enjoying the Islay emails for the last few months. We are planning a trip to Islay in July, 2007 and are keen to learn all we can before spending a week there. Chris' family had a connection with Islay - his great-great -grandparents -James MacKintosh (McIntosh) and Margaret Macdougall had two daughters baptized at Bowmore. Mary in 1830 and Margaret in 1833. James was a cabinet maker and we know that they had moved to Glasgow by Sept. 1834 when their next child was born. We have not been able to track down a marriage date as yet but will continue to search through Scotland's people as funds allow.
