Monta, Sorry that I failed to give the complete date of death for Duncan McCuaig. It should have read 3 June 1870. As to Hughie McArthur, according to Eldon Connections John McMillan had a McArthur cousin named Hughie who married Annabelle Johnston. This is probably the Hughie in the photo. I have gone to Eldon Connections and looked up the McCuaigs we are discussing. The information appears to have been submitted by a creditable genealogist. I then went to my database to find a brother and a sister of Duncan who married a daughter and son of Alexander McMillan and Ann Carmichael of Cattadale. Ann was a sister of Mary Carmichael, wife of Archibald McFadyen and Alexander a brother of Archibald's mother. The McMillans came to North Carolina in 1818 with the McFadyens and other related families. Alexander died here in 1822 and Ann and the children joined the McFadyens and others in their journey to Vicroria County, settling in Thorah Township, a short distance from the McFadyens in Eldon Township. Hugh McMillan was born at Cattadale 20 Sept. 1811 and died 8 Nov. 1867 in Beaverton, Ontario. He was married in 1842 to Elizabeth McCuaig. Katherine McMillan was born 17 Nov. 1818 at Cattadale and died 8 Nov. 1886 in Victoria County, Ontario. She married Donald McCuaig in 1844 in Victoria County. Hope this is helpful, Edward King Seagrove, NC
