Just as a note, for if anyone lives in the Victoria, BC area. All library branches have free access to Ancestry.com and the one downtown has ship lists on microfilm as well as all the Canadian Census returns. The reference section is pretty good and has books on Scottish ancestors. I didn't find my aunt's in them but there were a lot from Islay. I live in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. I have traced my people back to my 4x Great Grandfather on Islay. Nancy MacLarty
