He Was born in 1711 and married Jean Campbell 11 Nov 1742 at Cruachan, Argyllshire. He was educated at Univ. Of Edinburgh and licensed by the Presbytery of Inveraray 17 August 1734; ordained 4 Feb 1737 and was a Minister in Salen, Torosay area, Mull for ABT. 40 years. He died 20 April 1778. I have been unable to find out where he was born and who his parents Were as a lot of records from Mull are missing. Also I would appreciate information about Colin McTavish and his wife Catherine McGilvray who married 8 Feb 1808, Torosay, Mull. Colin could be Either a son or grandson of Rev. Archibald and apart from their marriage Certificate I have no further information before their marriage and don't Know who Cathrine McGilvray's parents were or where she was born. Our branch of the Mac/McTavish family comes from Colin and Catherine's son Hugh McTavish. In the 1851 and 1861 cencus they are living with Hugh and His family in Oban. Hope someone can help.
