Hi Sue: If you go to the site listed by Peter, on the left hand side go to to purchase movies. "The Maggie" is not available in Canada but can be purchased in the U.K. through Amazon.com Regards Janet, Ontario Sue Visser <genealgal2@execulink.com> wrote: Hi Peter We had fun viewing "The Maggie" at Bowmore Distillery during the Islay Festival of Malt and Music in 2000. What made it even more enjoyable was sitting beside a gentleman from the nursing home who gave us asides as to the identity of places and people throughout the movie. A most delightful Islay memory! Do you remember the birthday party for the old gentleman in the film? Imagine our surprise a couple of days later while visiting a cousin that that gentleman was his grandfather, Gilbert Stevenson, and it was indeed his birthday party! The same people who made "The Maggie" made "Whiskey Galore" - a movie we've enjoyed on television several times. I only wish "The Maggie" would be shown so we could watch it again. I've tried to find it to rent it without success. The round church of Bowmore is clearly visible in one scene. Other scenes are filmed in Port Charlotte and Port Askaig.
