Thanks for adding that Jim. I think we've taken a side road from the original post. I posted about how census takers mis-heard and recorded that incorrect information given to them mainly due to language barriers. This adds to our challenge when searching records and requires us to be creative in searching. In NO WAY did I mean this to reflect on transcribers! I've transcribed smaller records and know how challenging it can be. I give HUGE KUDOS to those members of SCT-ISLAY who transcribed the OPR and census and other detailed records.
