I was very sorry to learn of the death of Betsy West. My sister and I had the good fortune to visit with her in her living room in her house in Portnahaven in June 2013. Our guide on Islay, Christine Logan, the Lady of the Isles introduced us to her. She welcomed us to her home on very short notice and we had a nice chat about Islay genealogy.
