Hello Darren I hope some Campbell family researchers have responded to your post. Although I am not connected to this family, I do have some very interesting information on them. Extended members of your Campbell's appear to have travelled far and wide across the globe - Canada, America, India and possibly Australia and New Zealand. They are also connected through marriage to the Johnston family of Tallant Farm. I'd be happy to help you with your research - please contact me directly off-list. His father John Campbell came over from Islay mid 1880’s. I am trying to make the connection to family on Islay. I will be going there to Islay in July 2015 and any information I could find first would be most helpful. My uncle James has John’s journal of that time and although it is very difficult to decipher it has shed some clues: Killslaven as a birthplace of Alexander McDougal in1833 Mary b1829 - Donald b january 9th 1839 Elizabeth b oct 28th 1837 father died june 4th 1861 65 years of age mother died June 25th 1871 60 years of age Any and all help would be greatly appreciated ------------------------------- Quoting the entire text of a previous message in a reply is poor netiquette.
