In response to inquiries to about Laggan farm I do not know much about the farm other than knowing that it was one of the places my ancestor Robert McKerroll lived on Islay before immigrating to Oro Township, Simcoe County Canada in 1831. I also wanted to mention that Armin Grewe has some recent posts (May19, 2016) on his photoblog (www.islay.org.uk <http://www.islay.org.uk/>) showing Laggan farm. You can also use the search feature to find other photos of Laggan farm or other places on Islay. Living in Canada I find this photoblog is a wonderful way to visit Islay from afar. It's been a long time since I've sent anything to the Islay site You mentioned in one of your emails that your Stevenson family farmed at Laggan until 1874 I believe.? My ggrandfather Archibald McLugash and family farmed at Laggan from 1872 to some time after 1891 when they left for the mainland ending up at 3 Barness St Barrhead Renfreshire. Does anyone on the list know anything about the farms at Laggan.? I believe at one time there were three but not sure.? Any info would be appreciated. Janet (Ontario)
