Thanks Johan for the info.  I'm not sure if it was you who put me in touch with Flo Paterson who I believe is a granddaughter of Mary Flora.  She did mention that her grandmother worked for someone who worked in Detroit and that she lived in Windsor.  I have made a few half hearted attempts to find her but now that I'm back on the McLugash quest I'll have another go. Flo did provide me with quite a lot of info which moved things along but as you know if you go off on other lines it takes time for your mind to get back on tract.  I'll keep in touch and let you know if I find anything out.
