HiMy name is barbara Douglas and I have just joined this list. My great grandfather James Forbes lived on Islay between 1884 and 1886 and then again between 1910 and 1919 when he died (he is buried in Bowmore Cemetery). He was Factor to the Islay Estate in each of these periods. I'm also researching his daughter Gracie Forbes (married name McKillop) whose husband was Factor from 1919 to about 1935. They had a son known in the family as Hamish, but is Seamus on his birth certificate. He died on Islay in 1933 at the age of 15 and I'd love to know where he is buried so I can visit his grave when I come to visit Islay. I wondered if anyone might have any information?
