Hi Sue, I have some notes from WF MacKenzie on a John Mcleod in Arthur Twp.  John Mcleod settled on Lot 2, west half in 1844.  Sons William, Archibald-known as "Lord Nelson", John, daughters were Mrs. D. McEwan, Mrs. John McMillan, living in Harriston, & Mrs. John McLean, living in Minto. My Mcmillan  notes on John McMillan indicate he married Annie McLeod.  Annie and John were still living in 1903, retired on the farm.  They had 7 children, have the names if you need them.  Wondering if the informant Duncan was another son or possible if William or John or Archibald went by Duncan. Thanks Drew. This will help. I've been trying to sort out the McLeods in Minto and Arthur twps to see if there were more Islay McCuaigs turned McLeods in the area beyond the two families that I have in my research. Those two are both Norman McCuaig/McLeods...one married Janet Calder and the other Effie McDougal living relatively close to one another. Was John McLeod originally a McCuaig? I have no idea yet about any relationship with Ducan to your John McLeod. Sue
