    3. Thank you so much Roger -- what a wealth of information!!! I didn't realize there were two Kentraws, or even a Book of Names. You are right -- it was actually Kintra where mu GGGG Grandparents, Angus and Mary McNab farmed and were present in the 1861 Census. I see him listed in your report. Do any of the original buildings still exist in any form? Do you know if the B&B presently operating in the Oa as "Kentraw" is part of that old homestead? Before Angus moved to Kintra, he was a farmer at Roiskern in the 1841 and 1851 census. Would you have information about the origin of Roiskern as well? The Book gives a location of the farm what its name is derived from and some authorities or locals who confirmed these facts to the Royal Engineer in charge. The rest of the data I transcribed from the Rentals of Islay which Chronilogically explains the development and demise of the farms of Islay.
