He married a Catherine Christine Gillespie in Ontario , Canada ( believe Simcoe County) and had 11 children. Believe all marriages of children were in Manitoba , Canada. McArthur - married unknown Flora Victoria Mcarthur - married Robert Henry Irwin Margaret McArthur - married George Grisdale Alexander Gilbert McArthur - married Mary Ann McRae I believe Catherine Christine Gellespie was born 28 May 1826 in Bowmore , Scotland ( died 14 Feb 1901 Winnipeg , Manitoba, Canada) daughter of Alexander Gillespie 1796 - 1883 and Janet Jamieson 1787 - ?. She had a brother named Peter born 1828 and died in Manitoba , Canada 1899. Janet Jamieson is believed to be daughter of William Jamieson born 1763 and Betty Sweet. I'm hoping some of you from Sct-Islay List will be able to provide some information as to dates , locations , siblings and parents of Peter McArthur , Catherine Gillespie ancestry and McArthur offspring. >From what I've read so far the Islay group has been amazing at helping others connect to their past.
