    1. Re: [SCT-ISLAY] Possible epidemic in 1876?
    2. Roger McWee
    3. Hi Laura, I searched my database and found 76 deaths in 1876 20 of which were where people from Islay died abroad. Most of the 56 Islay deaths were adults. Your Dunlop group seems to be localised and almost certainly a contagent disease passed between the children, like measles. Without the death certificates, I dont have other data. It seems a tragic family with the father drowning also in 1876. I have Mary (McMillan) Dunlop being born Cumbrae Bute. I have a picture of the gravestone if you would like a copy, contact me off line Regards Roger ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 03, 2010 8:26 PM Subject: Re: [SCT-ISLAY] Possible epidemic in 1876? > > Hello Johan > > The Dunlop Mum & Dad, William & Mary, were from Ayrshire, but not Fenwick > (I'm thinking though, that the Fenwick Dunlops may have been cousins). > Wm > & Mary were married in Bowmore in 1868 and all five of their children > were > born in Killarrow parish.
