I am looking for information concerning Francis Souter born about 1776. He was at one stage an Excise Inspector in Inverness but later, at the time of the 1841 census he was living in Bowmore with his family, occupation writer. He died later that year and is described as a writer on his grave stone. I have not been able to find any record of his writings but suspect that he would have been known locally in Islay.
