Hi all I also think that the list has been a major success story, however, it has also been a victim of its own success. Shortly before Ted's passing, I had been discussing the negative side of the researchers database with him. It appeared that as more and more of the listers developed a closer relationship with other listers, they started corresponding directly (including myself), hence the reduction in the traffic to the list. On the one hand this is a sign of the maturation of the list, with close relationships developing between researchers focussing on particular families. However Ted agreed that he also had concerns that the researchers list reduced the volume of information publicly available to other existing and new members. What do you think?
