Hi Debbie Thank you so much for this- What a wonderful site-I was so excited to see the Knox Cemetery, so many of my relations buried there, Some buried since we visited there in 1973- Also in the Simcoe area-found that my Duncan Gilchrist was in Oro before 1837. Do you have any more information on the McLean family? His daughter Mary (b 1835) married a John McNiven/McNevin. John was also from Islay and I believe his parents were John McNiven and Ann McLellan. Date is Jan 19, 1884: http://www.waynecook.com/KN-MCLEAN_5.html<http://www.waynecook.com/KN-MCLEAN_5.html> Isabella is not listed on the stone. This cemetery (Knox Presbyterian) contains the graves of many of my Gilchrist line as well. I believe John died between 1881-1884 in Simcoe. There are two possible John McLeans who died in that timeframe and one had a will that went to Probate which I'll look up. ------------------------------- Quoting the entire text of a previous message in a reply is poor netiquette.
