    3. Hi friends, Just heading back up to Canada from Florida, and made a detour to a place called St. Simons Island, on the coast of Georgia. Lovely place with fascinating history, so we stopped at a very old church yard for a snoop. Never expecting to find anything important, I was very surprised to find a gravestone of someone from Islay. It was the grave of "John Campbell Currie, born in Isle of Islay, Scotland April 15, 1855, died Aug. 14, 1921, St. Simons Island." Beside him is the gravestone of his wife, Henrietta Stevens, who was born on St. Simons Island. No other Islay people there that we could find in the cemetery, but the lettering does seem to deteriorate very quickly unless they are carved in granite. I went into the church to see if I could find out anything more, but didn't have any luck. I'll be happy to send photos of both gravestones when I get home to whoever is related to him (and to you Roger, for the Islay Cultural Database). 3. Hi, Does anyone know where Largybrecht is located on Islay. It's suppose to be in the Kildalton Parish but I can't find it on the Royal Engineers Ordnance survey 1878. Dougald MacArthur

    3. Hi, I think Lergybrecht is on Jura not Islay. Jura is that beautiful mountainous island to the North with the best distillery in all the Isles.
