Sorry if this is a duplicate... but it showed up in my in box instead of my sent box. As a new researcher, I'd appreciate any comments and/or corrections to what I've been able to throw together on my own. I've used the excellent indexes provided by Theodore Larson and the records available on Ancestry.com... My earlist Islay entry is the marriage in 1790 of James CAMPBELL to Mary McINTRYE (I believe they were my 4th Great Grandparents)... I listed as their children Marion CAMPBELL (1793 - 19 Mar 1871) , Cuthbert Campbell (1797 - 02 Feb 1875), and my 3rd Great Grandfather Alexander CAMPBELL (1796 - 05 Mar 1867). Alexander CAMPBELL married, I believe an Elisabeth (Betsy also shows up) last name unknown, and had 6 children: Mary, Archibald, James, Neil, and Colin Gordon CAMPBELL, who I think is my 2nd Great Grandfather. Colin (b. 07 Dec 1825) married Catherine McLellan on the 17 Dec 1848. Catherine was born in 1829 and died 14 Oct 1904 in North Dakota. I have her parents listed as Malcolm McLELLAN and Christina MacLERGAN. That ends her records from what I can find. One of their children, Malcolm McLellan CAMPBELL (23 Aug 1852 - 26 May 1926) is my Great Grandfather. He married Flora McCONNACHIE 28 Feb 1883 in Wellington, Ontario. I have listed as Flora's parents Dougald McCONNACHIE (b. 1822) and Isabella FISHER (b. 1841). That maternal line ends there. The path of emigration seems to be from Islay to the Wellington, Ontario area. From there those related to me ended up in Pembina County, North Dakota.
