This is a periodic listing of my line of research in hopes that someone will see a connection and provide some additional information. Alexander MacKenzie, 1725-1820, Kilchoman Parish, Islay Married Flora Campbell, 1753-1828 They had five sons that I know of: Donald William, 1781-?, married Mary Cameron, 1787-1837 Robert Duncan, 1788-1859, married Mary McKinnon Alexander, 1791-1879, married Janet Ferguson, 1797-1860. This is my direct line. I have never been able to find anything further on Flora Campbell. I have no further information on Donald or Robert. I know only that Duncan and Mary McKinnon had one daughter that died quite young. I do have a good bit of information on the descendants of William and Mary Cameron and of Alexander and Janet Ferguson. I would, however, like to know more of the Camerons, Fergusons, and McKinnons. There are records of another Alexander MacKenzie, born about 1796 in Portnahaven, married Mary McEachern and had nine children. I think they emigrated to Canada in 1851. I suspect this Alexander is possibly linked to the above line but I have not found that link. There are several mentions of other MacKenzies in Islay in this general time frame but I have not been able to find any connections. Any further information would be most welcome.
