Norma - are you SURE that this Anne is the right Anne? With the naming patterns, it's common to have people with the same names. I find it quite unusual for a woman to start having children when she was in her 40s and 50s. John McLean but her children were born later in her years; Neil b. 1823, Archibald b. 1826, and Donald b. 1833.
I agree she seems old to have children and her year of birth on the death record is 1780! In the 1861 census Euphemia is listed as 74 yrs old living with sons Neil, 38 and Archibald 35. That is why I think she may have been married younger. I know how common these names are, I haven't really had any new revelations on my research for quite some time, so I'm grasping at straws.
