My great grandmother was Catherine McPhee/McDuffie who married Michael Lyon/s born in Islay but lived and died in Glasgow. Catherine's Parents: John McPhee/McDuffie born c.1803 - ? Finlaggan, Islay - died 4 June 1882 Partick, Glasgow Ann/Nancy Shanks born/bap. 20 Sept. 1800 - Daill, Bowmore (I can not find when and where she died) John and Ann/Nancy had the following children: Jean 21 March 1828 Euphemia 26 Mary 1830 Killarow Marion 8 January 1832 " Ann 30 November1834 " Catherine 2 June 1837 " Archibald 28 August 1839 " Flora 7 December 1841- near Daill John's parents: Archibald McPhee/McDuffy - Euphemia Ferguson Children: John c.1803 Duncan ? Ann/Nancy's parents: George Shanks - c.1760 Islay, died 1820 - Jane Campbell c. 1760 Islay, - died 1810 George and Jane had the following children: Angus 1781 Jane 1785 Marion (Mary) 12/10/1788 Killarow Donald 1 March 1795 George 6 July 1797 Ann/Nancy 20 September 1800 If the naming pattern was followed I could assume - Angus Shanks was George's father and Marion his mother Donald Campbell was Jane's father and Jane was Jane's mother With then George named after his father.

Anne, Regarding the Euphemia Ferguson below, I have an Euphemia Ferguson born abt 1781 in Kilchoman m. John McLean but her children were born later in her years; Neil b. 1823, Archibald b. 1826, and Donald b. 1833. She may have had a female born earlier, but I cannot find record of it. It wouldn't of been unusual for Euphemia to remarry if her spouse, Archibald McPhee/McDuffy passed away. Neil would have been named after Euphemia's father. Perhaps Archibald was named after Euphemia's first husband? Euphemia's parents were Neil Ferguson and Salena Currie.
