Campbell and Flora McConachie's marriage 28 Feb 1883 in Minto Township, Wellington County, Ontario It appears that the families were neighbours in Minto Twp. Many of the stones are now unreadable but I do have photos of the cemetery I could send you off list if you want. There is no transcription for Colin. I cannot find the Campbells in Ontario in 1861. In the Wellington County Historical Atlas, Colin Campbell had 100 acres at lot 15 concession 3 which if you look at a present day map, locate Palmerston...to the east is County Rd 5...turn north...the Campbell farm was on the north east corner of the next intersection (con 3). Also from the Wellington Co Atlas...pg 6 - "...while in 1854....there was a large influx of settles from the south part of the county, as well as from Arthur Twp. Among these very early settlers....Dougal McConachie...." It looks like Dougall/Dougald McConachie may possibly have married twice 1861 Canada Census, Canada West (Ontario), Wellington McCONNACHIE Dougald yeoman b SCT 37 Isabella b U.Canada 20 Mary b U. C. 3 Flora b U.C. 2 There are no McConachie's or Colin or Malcolm Campbell listed in Wellington Co 1851 census index. These families are not specifically mentioned in "the way it was, A History of Minto Township" but it does mention that a number of Minto residents migrated to North Dakota and called their settlement there Minto.
