Hi, Toni. I found the ship list and the D & A Sinclair entry. I don't recogize any of the other names on the list. I agree that it seems a bit odd if Daniel and his brother left home and Daniel's pregnant wife to go to Canada. Given the difficulties of that kind of travel at that time I would have probably have ruled against it. Mayabe it's just another of those frustrating/tantalizing coincidences. Very interesting site. I found a number of McKenzies but none I recognized. So far as I know at this time the first in my line to go to Canada did so in 1862. > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Fri, 12 Feb 2010 21:17:30 +0000 > Subject: Re: [SCT-ISLAY] Shipslists > > > Mac, > > When you get to the shiplist website, click on Passenger Lists (the 2nd blue box) > > Then, under Ships Passenger Lists, click Search North American lists > > then fill in the name you are searching. > > > > By th way, I made an error in yesterday's email - D. and A. Sinclair were on the New Swiftsure, from Quebec to Montreal, on the 12th of July, 1819, not 1821. I'm going to have to rethink whether or not these can be the 2 young Sinclair brothers from Kilchoman, but it is possible that Daniel left Islay earlier than I thought, leaving a pregnant wife back home. Since they got married, and their daughter was born in Kilchoman before the OPRs, who knows? > > Toni > > Hi. I found the web site but don't really know where to begin.
