In reply to Ken's message as below - to avoid any misunderstandings - Most of the 1851/2 census for Ontario, Canada is available for many counties but sadly not Simcoe. I am not sure about transcriptions for what is available and for the 1861 and 1871 census but actual images of the Canadian census records are available on Ancestry. I purchased Ancestry.ca which includes a great deal of the Ontario records at considerably less than the full deluxe membership. Hi Years ago, I was told the 1851 Simcoe Co. census had been lost. No copies exist.
