    3. Hi Carolyn Your packet arrived today. I've started reading it already. I don't know how or when it can be made available to others. Ron Steenvoorden said he possibly could help but we'll see how it progresses. Thanks again, Sue Visser ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carolyn Harmon" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 12, 2010 2:19 PM Subject: [SCT-ISLAY] departures > Hi listers: Somebody wrote about a family leaving Islay in the 1850's. 3. Thanks for letting me know Sue! I was just starting to wonder if it was going to make it. I just wish I could figure out if Robert McNabb, Capt John's father, was my John McNabb's uncle. There really isn't that much about Islay- it's almost all Ontario. So maybe just the first section could be made available? Did I tell you my John McNabb married Margaret Galloway in Oswego NY in Nov 1868? They supposedly both worked on a Great Lakes ship- and their daughter was born in early 1869. She might have been premature? Margaret was from the Port Hope area and they were in Collingwood in 1871. I've never been able to figure out the ship. I tracked down the church in Oswego, since I have their original marriage certificate. The page with their marriage was ripped out of the book- which had survived a fire!~ Enjoy! Carolyn
