    3. Hello Darren I'm not related. I checked the OPR transcriptions for births and deaths but didn't see anything to help you. There's a possibility that they didn't go directly from Islay to North America - often families worked their way to mainland and then worked to accumulate the funds to get across "the big pond". I don't want to disillusion you about visiting Islay - YES GO BECAUSE IT'S A WONDERFUL PLACE TO VISIT - but if you're expecting to find your family tree on your visit, I think you'll be disappointed. There is no longer a Family History Society and the Museum of Islay Life is first and foremost a Museum and doesn't do genealogical research. If the purpose of your visit is to find your roots, I strongly recommend doing as much as you can from home. Many people use Ancestry.co.uk and/or ScotlandsPeople <http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/help/index.aspx?402> Did they go straight to Seattle or did they settle somewhere else first and then migrate to Seattle? Hopefully a Campbell researcher on the list can help more. Good Luck Sue Visser PS Here is an excellent site to help you make the most of your Islay visit. http://www.islayinfo.com/ -----Original Message----- From: Darren Dressler via Sent: Sunday, May 17, 2015 12:56 PM To: SCT-ISLAY@rootsweb.com Subject: [SCT-ISLAY] Howard James Campbell Hello all, I am the grandson of Howard James Campbell b1889 Seattle.
