    3. I am so sorry Ted that you have been having this problem again. I thought I had it fixed last time. I have been away for 10 days and didn't realise that my emails were bouncing until I got back today. They were working fine when I left on 17th March. Hope this works OK and I have Subcribed again. Thanks so much for a great service. Celia.

    3. Hi Johan: Many thanks for your kind offer. I know that John Mitchell was alive at the date of the 1881 census. I've checked Scotlandspeople for his death but have not found anything which would indicate he died in Greenock. The only Greenock reference was not who I was looking for. What I need to know is at what time John stopped appearing in the annual directories which showi the names of streets and occupants. I'm not sure what dates may be available for Greenock. The 1881 Census shows the following: 36 Crawford St West, Greenock Donald Mitchell age 46 Islay Flora Mitchell age 48 wife Islay John Mitchell u age 23 son Greenock John Campbell u age 20 stepson carpenter Islay Donald is the son of John Mitchell 47 Crawford St W Greenock Alexander Mitchell head age 36 House painter Islay Janet Mitchell wife age 37 Greenock John Mitchell w father age 74 Sugar House Lab Islay Any info on either of these families would be great, but I am most interested in the death of John Mitchell age 74 with the hope that his parents will be shown on the certificate. Anything that will narrow my search would be greatly appreciated. Have I managed to clarify what I want? If not, let me know and I'll try again. Once again, Many thanks Janet, Ontario but what I'm trying to do is to find the death of John Mitchell age 77 in 1881 by out how long this Mitchell family were in Greenock and, possibly, the death of John J LOCHRIDGE <j.lochridge@btinternet.com> wrote: Hello Janet, As you know, I am quite close to Greenock, and could visit the Watt Library there for any information you need. 2. Mac Coinnich
    3. I have another Gillespie branch I'm trying to track. Mary McKenzie (1826-1885) married John Gillespie, Kilchoman Parish, January 1852. I've found two John Gillespies who could fit the time frame, both in Kilchoman. One born Apr 1826, parents Alexander Gillespie and Catharine Campbell. One born Dec 1826, parents Duncan Gillespie and Margaret Gilles.
