    3. Hi Sue, I have some notes from WF MacKenzie on a John Mcleod in Arthur Twp.  John Mcleod settled on Lot 2, west half in 1844.  Sons William, Archibald-known as "Lord Nelson", John, daughters were Mrs. D. McEwan, Mrs. John McMillan, living in Harriston, & Mrs. John McLean, living in Minto. My Mcmillan  notes on John McMillan indicate he married Annie McLeod.  Annie and John were still living in 1903, retired on the farm.  They had 7 children, have the names if you need them.  Wondering if the informant Duncan was another son or possible if William or John or Archibald went by Duncan. Hope this helps. 3. A long shot -- but I am forever looking for a Catherine McArthur, "a native of Kildalton" who gave birth to illegitimate son of Lachlan McCaig of Bowmore in 1831. She would be of about correct age to be your "Hath". Fascinating but no way to prove it! 3. Hi there I have a family of McArthurs/MacArthurs in my family tree. They didn't live at Avinlussa, but at Avonvogie, which must be all of a mile away! My ancestor is Peter MacArthur, born about 1805 in Kildalton, christened 1810, died 1890. He had a sister Hath (?) christened 1812. Their parents appear to have been John MacArthur and Agnes or Nancy MacArthur (?) married 1809 in Bowmore. I have no more information about John. My Peter married Margaret McKay 10th April 1828. 3. My GGG grandfather, Archibald McLean born circa 1781 married Janet MacNiven on 4 October 1800 at Kildalton. The OPR states "He a young man in Evrnick (?) in the parish of Kilmeny and she a young woman in Claigin in this parish". She was born circa 1776. The 1841 census has them at Glenegidale Lots, he being an agricultural labourer. His son, Archibald McLean, my GG grandfather, was born circa 1803 and died 19 Dec 1884 at Ardbeg where he was a maltman. There was a brother, Angus, also born circa 1803 and died 1835. Archibald McLean (son) was also known as McLergan and married Margaret McCuaig. Are there any connections to these McLeans? Ann Archibald

    3. I am striving to uncover any information regarding my G.G.G.Grandparents: Andrew McNab & Anne Campbell. What information that I do have is taken from the records of their children, in particular one son, my G.G.Grandfather Finlay McNab who was born to Andrew (mother not mentioned) in 1795 at Ballychatrigan. Finlay married Elizabeth McCuaig c.1824 and they settled and raised their children in Cragabus. Finlay died there in 1861 and his death certificate confirms that his parents were Andrew McNab & Anne Campbell. (both deceased) There are mentions of Andrew in the records of Ballychatrigan, including The 1811 Tenants' List, The 1828 Black Book and in the 1836 Tenants' List. However, I can find no Birth, Marriage or Death records of either this Andrew McNab nor his wife Anne Campbell. This is and has been for several years, my Brick Wall and I am hoping that Roger McWee, Sue Visser , Lorne Campbell or other Listers can help me solve this problem. Regards, Angus Macnab
