Hi All, I am hoping that someone on the list can tell me where I would find a place called "Clachamash", Isle of Skye. The name was given as place of birth for my great uncle Archibald McDonald. He was born c1849 and his parents were Malcolm McDonald and Flora McLean. I have looked at a number of maps of Scotland and cannot find a place with that spelling. The only place that came close was Clackmarras, Moray but I do not think it is the right one. I do realise that the spelling could differ greatly between Scotland and Australian records so I hope that someone can put me on the right track. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
