Reposting interests in the McDonell/MacDonalds of Leek. Having exhausted my searches for the origins of my family ancestors, Alexander & Janet MacDonald (both born c.1790) who lived in Leek, parish of Boleskine & Abertaff Inverness between 1818 - 1851, I am now trying the adjoing parish of Kilmonivaig where Janet was born. Unfortunately I don't know where in the parish she was born but it is possible that she married Alexander there. At least two of their seven sons, Donald (25/05/1835) and Archibald (05/10/1837) were probably born there. The other five sons, Angus, Duncan, Alexander, Ewen & John were born between 1818 and 1837. There was also a daughter Ann b. 1820. It is possible that Alexander (1790) was the son of John MacDonnell & Ann Grant of Kilmonivaig but this is a guess at this stage based on IGI info..
