I would like to thank publicly the folk who have taken the time to correspond and advise me about Sailors & Crofters of Skye & the highlands. I am having difficulty trying to locate my McLEAN/NICOLSON ancestors earlier than 1855 and have been trying to think laterally.<grin> However, if anyone has seen a marriage to either Neil McLEAN & Rachel NICOLSON supposedly at Kilmuir 1841 I would LOVE to hear from you also looking for a birth of Neil M(a)cLEAN at Strath about 1818. Rachel born Stenscholl abt 1819. There are 4 children to Neil & Rachel I have no information. So much information on an 1855 certificate but proving it is another obstacle!!
