Thanks to kind subscribers of this list, I have a little more information on my missing ancestors: ALEXANDER TORRIE, b. 1824 S. Uist, Inverness-shire, married MARIA CHARLOTTE SEATON CAMPBELL, on May 3, 1865 at Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanarkshire. They had three children: ALEXANDER, b. 1865, MARIA MARGARITA, b. Oct. 6, 1969 at Milton, Glasgow and ANNIE JANE, b. July 10, 1873 at Milton, Glasgow. The 1881 census Strath, Inverness-shire, ED 5/9 Harripol states ALEXANDER TORRIE, married, 57, annuitant (Post Office), b. S. Uist, Inverness-shire MARY (CAMERON) TORRIE, wife, 23, b. Strath, Inverness-shire MARIA MARGARITA TORRIE, 11, scholar, b.Glasgow HECTOR TORRIE, son, 11 months, b. Strath, Inverness-shire Then, in 1888, CHRISTINA TORRIE, daughter, b. December 21. There is no mention of Annie Jane in the census-I wonder if this child died in the interim? If this added information rings any bells with anyone, I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks so much.
