Hello Everyone: (I am trying to urge everyone to keep on posting regularly as you gather more information while you do you personal research. If you post the updated research it may snag a bite. People come and go on the list..) Being as I saw this remark on the list, I thought I would up-date with what I have found to date. John Arbuckle went to North Uist in 1764 and had 1 son William. Rev. William married Flora MacLeod (daughter of Dr Murdoch MacLeod and Mary MacLean) on Aug.18,1797. William died in 1818 & Flora died in 1852. First born child of Rev. William & Flora Arbuckle John b.1798 - married Margaret Steven about 1822 and had a daughter (name may be Jessy/Jessey) about 1823 then a son William about 1825. William was a teacher in Barra and married Effy McGiggan in Sept.1887. William died in Dec.1887. Effy was from South Uist. John went to Prince Edward Island, Canada about 1827 as tutor to the sons of Dr.Angus MacAulay. He then had a daughter with Flora MacAulay in 1833. Flora MacAulay died abt 1834 and Margaret (Steven) Arbuckle died in 1842. In 1843 John married Ann Stewart of PEI and they had one son John Murdoch MacLeod Arbuckle. John M.M. married Clara Catherine Gillan. John (Sr) died in 1871 in PEI. There were 8 other children for William & Flora which I have info on also. I would like to hear from anyone researching the name STEVEN or Dr Murdoch MacLEOD or Mary MacLEAN families. Thank You Lorraine Ottawa, Canada
