    3. Hello everyone, I have put this question before but received no response. The responses that Andrea has received for her Gaelic translation has spurred me to ask again. I assume that the records for this name were written by someone who simply recorded what they heard, but I'm hoping that someone might figure it out. The name is feminine and is 'Eiver'- occasionally written as 'Ver'. It occurs twice in my family. The first time it arises is in the late 18th century for a lady from Lochaber who married a Ewen MacMillan and the second time is for her granddaughter. Has anybody ever heard of the name, and is there an English 'translation'? Thanks, Lyndall Canberra, AUS
