I have been travelling in Georgia, USA during July (and neglecting my e-mails since i got back). While there I saw a billboard for a place called Culloden, Georgia which was having a "ham-slam" but time prevented me from visiting. I did however manage a quick trip to Scotland County, North Carolina - where the name Mackenzie abounds. The county seat is Lauranburg, which is twinned with Oban, Argyll. I met up with local (town police and county sheriff dept) law enforcement officers in Lauranburg, who were quite fascinated to meet an officer from the original Scotland!
