I am trying to trace the birth of John McKenzie, his marriage to Eliza(beth) Fraser and finally, his death. Two visits to the Scottish Record Office in Edinburgh have been unsuccessful. On the 1851 census of Kiltarlity John & Eliza were living at Teavarran (Teanallen?) with their two children, Mary & William. On the 1861 Kiltarlity census Eliza was widowed and was living at Riefour (Reufour?), with her five children, Mary, William, Donald, Alexander and Janet. Although John was living in March 1859, when Janet was born, and registered her birth I cannot find a record of his death between March 1859 and the 1861 census. I've not managed to find the family on the 1871 census, but in 1881 Eliza was living in Edinburgh. I have been unable to locate Teavarran/Teanallen or Riefour/Reufour on the OS map. Any information on these locations and on the family would be greatly appreciated. David, Crosby, U.K.
