Mum and I were talking about a young woman, brought up by Liz Cambell out in Smithton, who was an 'orphan/foundling/foster child'. Mary was deaf and dumb, but Liz taught her domestic skills, and she ended up as a live-in servant at Culloden House (?). There was a terrible tragedy and she and others were killed.
