This photo was taken in Darien, Georgia. The Highlanders who came over with John Mohr McIntosh rebuilt the original Fort King George at the mouth of the Altamaha River & named the first settlement New Inverness, then Dairen, "for the ill-fated (Scottish) settlement on the Isthmus of Panama."
