Hello Rodger, You say new to the list, does that also mean new to genealogy? A couple of things which might help. 1. Did your grandmother say whereabouts in Inverness her family were from? If so include the place name + approx. dates in your message. 2. Can you think of anyone who might be on the 1881 census for Scotland, their approx. age and hopefully ocupation, someone on the list could then look them up on the census cd. 3. Or you can look at the 1881 censu on fiche, yourself, at your local Latter Day Saints Family History centre, a list of centres is at http://www.familysearch.org/ ...... then click 'browse categories' to get to http://www.familysearch.org/Browse/browse.asp..... look at 'Libraries' and continue from there, Hope something turns up, regards, Maureen Kuzyk.
